Making the words easier to read

Viewer can be adjusted to suit your eyes and the room you are in. Open Settings from the icon at the top of the screen.

Your choices are remembered on your phone, so you only need to set them once.

Lyrics size

Choose Small, Medium or Large.

Large is worth trying if you normally hold your phone at arm’s length, or if you are using Viewer precisely because the screen at the front is hard to read. Fewer words fit on screen at a time, which is usually a fair trade.

Appearance

Choose System, Light or Dark.

  • System follows whatever your phone is set to, and switches with it.
  • Light is dark text on a white background. Easier to read in daylight — an outdoor service, a bright room, a morning small group.
  • Dark is light text on a black background. Easier on the eyes in a dim sanctuary, and less likely to light up the face of the person next to you.

Both are made to be readable; neither is an afterthought. Pick whichever suits where you are sitting.

Tip: In a darkened room, Dark appearance plus your phone's own brightness turned down is far more comfortable for everyone around you than a bright white screen.

Your phone’s own settings still matter

Viewer respects your phone’s accessibility settings, so if you have already set a larger system text size, that carries through.

Turning your phone’s brightness up is often the quickest fix in a bright room — more so than any setting here.
