Sharing with people near you

If you are following along and someone beside you would like to as well, you can share it with them directly. They do not need to see the code on the main screen.

This is useful in the back rows, in an overflow room, or for someone who arrived after the code came down.

How to share

Tap the share icon at the top of the screen. A card appears with a QR code and a short code — the same kind your church showed at the start.

Hold your phone out so the person next to you can scan it with their camera. That is the whole process.

They can then share it onward to the person beside them, and so on. The church shares with a few people; it spreads through the room from there.

What you are sharing

Only the words of the service. Sharing does not give anyone:

  • anything about you
  • any control over the service
  • the ability to change what anybody else sees

Everyone who joins this way is simply following along, exactly as you are.

What you cannot do

Viewer has no controls for running the service — no way to change the words, move the service on, or stop anyone else’s phone. Those belong to the person at the front. If you are following along, all you can do is read, and hand the session on.
