Help Center Viewer Following along on your phone

Following along on your phone

WorshipStorm Viewer shows the words of the songs on your own phone, in time with the screen at the front.

There is nothing to install and no account to create. It opens in your phone’s web browser like any other web page.

Joining

Your church will show a QR code and a short code on the screen, usually before the service starts.

To join by QR code: open your phone’s camera and point it at the code. A link appears — tap it. That is all.

To join by typing the code: go to the web address shown beneath the QR code, type the session code, and tap Join.

Codes are 6 characters, and they never contain the letter O, the letter I, the digit 0 or the digit 1 — those are left out precisely because they are hard to tell apart from across a room. Capitals, spaces and dashes are ignored, so you do not need to type it exactly as shown.

Either way you land straight on the words. You will not be asked to sign in, and you are not giving the church anything about yourself.

What you see

The words of the song being sung right now, sized to be read on a phone.

When the person at the front moves on, your phone follows automatically. You do not have to do anything.

The lines may break in different places than on the big screen. That is normal — a phone held upright is a different shape from a projector screen, so the words are laid out to suit it.

Between songs

You will sometimes see the screen go blank, or a message that the screen has been cleared. That is deliberate: whoever is running the service has taken the words off the main screen, and your phone follows.

The words come back on their own when the next song starts. There is no need to rejoin.

A few practical things

Keep your screen on. Viewer tries to stop your phone sleeping while you are following along, but if your phone dims very aggressively you may want to turn the brightness up before the service.

Turn your phone to silent. Viewer will not make any noise, but the rest of your phone still might.

You can put your phone away and come back. Lock it, put it in your pocket, take it out again — you rejoin where the service is now.

It uses very little data. Only the words are sent, not video or backgrounds.

Leaving

Just close the tab. There is nothing to sign out of.

If the service has finished, Viewer will tell you the session has ended.
