Help Center Projector Classic Update Notes Update 2023.0.0

Update 2023.0.0

This first release of 2023 includes some bug fixes and new features suggested by you, our wonderful Friends of Projector Classic!

Layout “ALL CAPS” Feature: The Layout feature now supports an “ALL CAPS” text modification option.  A layout can choose this modification (under the Lyrics tab) and all of the song lyrics will be automatically converted to capitalized letters on the slides.  The language that is used to determine capitalization rules can also be chosen.  Check out the details in this help article: Custom Layouts Thanks to Patricia for suggesting this feature!

Click/Tap Immediate Show Feature: You can choose a new option in Settings for Slide Click/Tap Behavior.  If you select “Clicking (Tapping) slide shows immediately”, then a mouse click or tap on a slide will cause it to immediately be shown on the output screen, rather than the current default behavior, which is to queue the slide up to play “next”.  You may want to enable this feature to help your projection staff more easily follow that “random verse” worship leader (you know who that is :) who likes jumping around in a song and not following the planned song sequence.  The following help article explains more:  Click/Tap Slide Behavior  A cool feature suggested by Jørgen!

Fixed: Changing a Layout that is currently in use in a Plan will now automatically cause all slides using the Layout to be updated.

Fixed (iPhone UI): The “logo, order, layouts” popup window will now automatically dismiss from the screen when a choice is made.

Improved (Mac): The Planning Center login screen is now implemented in a dedicated browser window on the Mac version of Projector Classic, using the default browser that you have chosen for your Mac.  This allows proper tab key and mouse clicks to navigate the login screen (which did not work before) and, more importantly, provides access to your browser’s password manager to help you avoid retyping the email and password all the time!

And finally: The Sessions feature has removed the option to enable/disable the Game Kit protocol for use.  It has not functioned for many years now because Apple changed the Game Kit API and behaviors way back in iOS 10.  I have started working on enabling it once again using the proper Game Kit and Game Center interactions.  In the mean time, the Game Kit protocol is always disabled and the associated Settings switches are no longer available - Sessions will exclusively use the Multipeer protocol for now.
